A few months after my initial visit to Turner's Auto Wrecking on the outskirts of Fresno, I ventured back to the vast auto graveyard to hunt down more vintage artifacts.
My goal was to photograph as many classic hood ornaments as possible. A couple of hours into walking down only two aisles of the multi-acred grounds, I realized that a majority of the classic cars must have had their ornaments removed long ago.
I spent around four hours meandering around, listening to the ghosts who died in many of the cars over the years. A few cars from the 30s and 40s are riddled with bullet holes. Makes you wonder.
These two photo montage posters are a result of my last visit to the facility. They are both offered on my Esty store.

Turner's Auto Wrecking
On the Southeast side of Fresno, out in the dusty, hot as hell area of the city that most people on the northern side of town have no idea exists, still stands one of the last true junk yards in California. With cars dating back to the early 20th century this junk yard feels more like a graveyard than a junk yard, and as you walk around the acres and acres of vehicles you might feel the lingering ghosts of the many who died in car wrecks, police chases or shoot outs. Here are a few shots from only about 1/20th of the entire yard. One of the workers told me he thought it was one of the largest junk yards in America. The place is called Turner's Auto Wrecking. If you love cars, or even vintage or local history I encourage you to check the place out. Go on a cool day.
